It turns out that the high-paying, super-important job that Barack Obama gave up in order to pursue a short stint as a “community organizer” was far less than he made it out to be. In fact, it was so much less than he made it out to be that it was: nothing at all like what he described whatsoever.

He was a low-level flunky at a research sweat-shop - nowhere near the mover and shaker he made himself out to be in order to show what a swell guy he was to give it all up in pursuit of his ultra-altruistic goal of organizing communities.

 So now that this vital and revealing part of his biography is revealed to be a complete fabrication, we’re going to see the media get right on investigating how much of the rest of that biography is a work of fiction too, right?

I know it’s thin gruel, but I can’t help but speculate if Andrew Sullivan’s bosses at The Atlantic have suggested that he take a few days off - whether he likes it or not…

After a week of breathlessly “reporting” every kind of speculative slur against Sarah Palin at the behest of David Axelrod and the Obama campaign - each and every one of which was subsequently debunked with some actual fact-checking, his blog has gone uncharacteristically silent for over 24 hours now. His last post was a view from a window with the simple title “The View From Your Window” - reminiscent of the kind of pouting a child does when his mother grounds him and sends him to his room.

The Atlantic has been taking some well-deserved abuse from bloggers for continuing to write paychecks for a guy whose writing tends to remind one of a gossipy teenage girl engaged in a verbal slapfight with her rival over the star quarterback (that is when he’s not indulging himself in outright anti-Semitism or narcissistic back-patting). The only thing which separates him from those anonymous Kos diarists whose work is periodically disappeared down the memory hole after it becomes an embarrassment even to them is The Atlantic masthead.

It would show the first moment of good judgment from The Atlantic’s management since the Palin onslaught began if this is indeed the case, but only time will tell if this is anything more than rank speculation on my part…

…so says an article in the Baltimore Examiner….

OK…”thugs” was my word not theirs, but isn’t that actually a nice way to describe unionized violence-advocating communists who support foreign terrorist groups and think that terms like “any means necessary” should be a part of union negotiations?

Questions need to be asked of both the University of Minnesota which employs these thugs as well as the AFL-CIO and AFSCME who these people represent. I’ll give them a momentary benefit of the doubt and say that they didn’t know what was going on under their noses (I know…I don’t believe it for an instant either), but let’s give them the opportunity to purge these kinds of people from their ranks. If they choose not to, then they can fairly be called to account for the actions of those within their midst…

Joe Biden lost his wife in a tragic car crash some years back, and now he’s trying to drum up sympathy for himself and Barack Obama by peddling lies that she was killed by a drunk driver, causing no end of grief for the family of the man who is no longer alive to defend himself

The truth is much less sympathetic to Biden: it appears that she may have died as a result of her own negligent driving:

In that interview, Herlihy said Neilia Biden either accelerated or drifted through the intersection, and Dunn could not stop. The truck driver said she was not looking at him, her face turned away, and the state police thought she was distracted by one of the children in the back seat.

Note that this doesn’t in any way lessen the tragedy that happened that day. What matters is that Joe Biden is yet again attempting to advance his political career by lying through his teeth about his personal life. If this was an isolated incident in which a man’s memory might be understandly muddied by a personal tragedy, it might be forgivable; but he has a long history of serial exaggerations, plagiarizing, and outright lies that date back at least as far as his college days.

And they’re worried that Sarah Palin might wind up a heartbeat from the presidency?

A Rasmussen poll out today is spelling potential disaster for Barack Obama:

In the overall population, Obama only beats Palin on experience by 10%. With independents, it’s only 5%. That’s the #1 on the ticket vs. the #2, and he’s only barely winning. Oh and, by the way, did I mention this poll was taken before her speech last night in which she laid the wood to his backside over his lack of executive experience….repeatedly and to great effect…

…This is definitely not going to help Michelle’s children.

If only there were something in the Constitution that allowed law-abiding citizens to defend themselves against that sort of thing…

In yet another “airbrushing the past” incident, the Obama campaign has magically wiped away the evidence of his past opposition to the surge, lack of faith in our military, and general piss-poor judgment…

San Francisco, one of the famous “sanctuary cities,” has found itself the victim of computer sabotage by one of its own employees….but the Leftist Democrats running the city still can’t see the potential dangers of not securing our borders…What if it hadn’t been just a disgruntled employee?

Never mind that Obama is a neo-Marxist…

Never mind that Obama thinks that I’m a bitter, gun-loving, Jesus-nut too stupid to figure out things for myself…

Never mind that Obama wouldn’t even be a U.S. senator were it not for the fact that he was the last man standing after scandal eliminated a rival that would have easily dusted him in an actual election…

Never mind that he doesn’t have a single legislative accomplishment to show for his time in the U.S. Senate….

Never mind that he can’t bring himself to actually denounce the idea that the U.S. brought 9/11 on itself or that the government created AIDS to kill colored people…(He only denounced what he called “controversial statements.” He never specified which statements. His lawerly parsing wasn’t an accident.)

Never mind that he thinks I am gullible enough to believe he belonged to a church for twenty years and had no idea what they stood for…

Never mind that he thinks it’s OK to hold fundraisers at the home of an admitted domestic terrorist…

Never mind that he’s involved in corrupt land deals with enemy agents and political fixers….

Never mind that he thinks people who wear flag pins are false patriots…

Never mind that his wife is a bigot of the first order…

Never mind that his first instinct, when he got in political trouble, was to throw the grandmother who loved and raised him under the bus…

Never mind that he is unable to make the distinction between having a difference of opinion and planting a bomb…

Never mind that he is the favorite candidate of Hamas and the Iranian regime…

I haven’t even gotten to the color of his skin because I could care less. Unlike Obama and Lightman, I judge people on the content of their character. I have seen Obama’s character and found it sadly lacking.

I could go on for pages, but why should I? After all, according to both Obama and David Lightman, the only reason I wouldn’t vote for him is because I’m clinging to my fear and dislike for “people who don’t look like me.”

Too bad neither of them would ever have the courage to say it to my face.

Just hours after getting caught with their hands in the cookie jar for planting questions and swearing they’d never do it again, Hillary Clinton’s campaign did it again.

This time they tried to claim it was just an innocent conversation between old acquaintences. Problem is, they weren’t. And it wasn’t. It was the same old sleazy underhanded Clinton tactics: they just figured that lightning couldn’t possibly strike twice. Who would think to even check so soon after such an embarrassing incident after all?

This brazen huckstering shows that for Hillary there is no such thing as spontaneity: if it’s not in her script, it doesn’t happen. And we thought Al Gore was stiff and robotic in 2000? He’s looking like a freewheeling firebrand by comparison to the rigidity of Hillary Clinton and her handlers. Not that I’m complaining, mind you…The more the American public sees of who and what she really is, the less likely we’ll have to hear from her after November 2008.
